Last minute request:

If possible, can you send your child with 2 flowers tomorrow (Thursday)? Traditionally we honour retiring staff with a flower from each child... and tomorrow we will be saying a flowery goodbye to Mrs. Martin and Mrs. Jeffers. I was not at school yesterday, so this has slipped between the cracks, leaving this last minute request. I apologize, but if you can help by sending flowers tomorrow that would be great!

Reminder:

On Monday, most (but not all) students are going on our year end trip for Grades 5 and 6 to

Wild Play.

We will depart and return by charter bus, so
students must be at school on Monday by 8:15 a.m.

We will leave no later than 8:30.

Students should dress to be outside for a good part of the day, come rain or shine. Hats, sunscreen, rain jacket, water bottle, lunch, and perhaps a bigger than normal snack should go in your child's backpack.

Wednesday, June 17, 2015

Just a reminder to our Grade 6s to dress for the weather tomorrow (Thursday June 18, 2015), as they will spend the majority of the day outdoors at Sutherland Secondary. Sun screen, hats, water bottles would be a good idea to pack in backpacks, as well as a larger than normal snack, and of course lunch. Ms. Carruth will be attending, along with Mrs. MacKay and Mrs. Dolan. The Gr. 5s will be taught by Mr. Kelly in his room.

If you would like to see some images from our Sky Art day on Monday, where 2500 students from the three neighbouring elementary schools plus Sutherland Secondary came together on our grass field to make a human work of art... a giant Sabre tooth image (Sutherland's school mascot)... do click on the link to the North Shore News.

Hello families!

It's Ms. Carruth! I am still in for Mr. Clarke for the duration of this week.

A few updates! We had a small class today, as many of the students attended the track meet at Swangard. Today, the students began to design a machine for their Simple Machine's unit in science. So far, they are very enthusiastic, and have come up with some really cool machines. I'm impressed.
The students have also finished their chair project and will need to take them home, preferably before the Icecream Social on Thursday.
